KARMUKA YOGA METHODOLOGY

Course Level 1

In each module participants will examine the deep connection between the structure of the body and the yogic energy system, discovering the psychosomatic relationships that influence emotional and psychological well-being. In this way, we train skilled practitioners, teachers and therapists who can create balanced practices and therapeutic sessions that promote physical, emotional and energetic harmony.

Module 1:

The first module of this training will focus on the functional anatomy of the lower body and the biomechanics of Yoga practice, specifically targeting the feet, knees, hips and lumbar spine. This module aims to address and correct problems such as plantar fasciitis, sciatic pain, kyphosis, lordosis, herniated discs and sacroiliac joint discomfort. Participants will learn how to work from the bony level to promote alignment, improve mobility and relieve chronic physical pain. Emphasis will be placed on standing postures and their relationship to the first two chakras, cultivating strong roots and a stable foundation to establish a foundation of balance and stability.

Module 2:

Integrating the information from the first module, the second module of this training will focus on the functional anatomy of the upper body and the biomechanics of Yoga practice, specifically addressing the hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck and their connection to the diaphragm, heart and thyroid. Participants will explore how these areas relate to the middle chakras (3, 4 and 5), paying special attention to the hands as an extension of the energy and expression of the heart. This module will also begin to explore the fundamental aspects of backward extension postures, emphasising how these postures can open and strengthen the chest, improve spinal flexibility and support the heart chakra. The module aims to provide tools to correct and alleviate common problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder impingement as well as discomfort and pain related to the neck.

Module 3:

Building on the foundations established in the previous modules, this training focuses on the crucial roles of extension, correct action and internal relationship in optimising spinal alignment during twists and inversions. Refining these practices will deepen their therapeutic benefits, particularly for problems related to digestion, menstruation and scoliosis. The module also explores the activation and regulation of the higher chakras, which are closely linked to the hypothalamus and pineal gland, key centres in the regulation of circadian rhythms and hormonal balance. Emphasis will be placed on how these practices can alleviate symptoms of depression, insomnia and anxiety, supporting emotional and mental well-being.
